乱鴉の饗宴

ジョフリー少年王の死後、 キングスランディングでは、 ジョフリーの弟トメンが新たに玉座へと着く。

だがまだ八歳であり事実上、 母でありクイーンであるサーセイが牛耳っていた。

しかしサーセイの横暴は 度を越していた。

愛していたはずの弟、 ジェイミーでさえ、 自身の元から遠ざけて、 気に入らないものに対しての仕打ちは際限のないものとなっていた。

同じくして、 ベイロン・ グレイジョイ が死亡した鉄諸島でも王の座をめぐる争いが始まっていた。

ベイロンの長女、 アシャ。 ベイロンの弟のユーロンに 、ヴィクタリオン等が選王委員会により 熾烈な争いが繰り広げられていた。

また今作にてサーセイの娘であり、 ジョフリーの妹のミアセラの姿も模写されている。

マーテル家の次男と婚約し、 ドンへと移り住んだミアセラ。 そこでは長女のアリアン・ マーテルがミアセラを七王国の女王にするべく画策していた。

孤独に逃走の旅を続けるアリア・ スタークは、海を渡り ブレーヴォスへと。

同じくしてナイツウォッチのサムウェル・ターリーもオールドタウンの知識の城を目指し、 ブレーヴォスたどり着いていた。

そしてブライエニーはサンサ・スタークを探す旅へと旅立つ。

それぞれが近づいては離れ、 すれ違いを繰り返していく中で、 ブライエニーは逆徒に捕まってしまうのだが、 連れて行かれた先で見た人物は死んだはずのキャトリンスタークであった。

七王国内は激しく揺れ動こうとしていた...

今作もとにかく面白い。 デナーリス家ティリオン、 ジョンスノウが出てこないが、 それは次作で展開されるとのことで、 また楽しみである。

今作では主にサーセイを中心に描かれている。

完全に悪役のイメージのサーセイ。

自分の好き勝手、 やりたい放題に振る舞っていて、 理解者のジェイミーまでをも遠ざけてしまい、 次第に二人の関係性は変化していく。

一方でジェイミーは 最初の極悪非道なイメージとは裏腹に、 キャトリンに釈放され、 キングスランディングに死ぬ思いで帰還（ 道中利き腕を失っている）してからというものの、 イメージを覆す印象である。

それは一緒に旅をしてきたブライエニーに対しても、捕虜だったエドミュア・ターリーに対してもしかりである。

利き腕を失ったことで戦うことができなくなり、 心境も少しずつ変化していく様が見て取れる。

絶対に痛い目にあうだろうと思っていたサーセイはと言うと...

今後のティリオンの動向も含めて、 ラニスター家からは目が離せないであろう。

個人的にはバラバラになってしまったスターク家寄りで読んでいるが、これから先どうなるのか。

ナイツウォッチの総帥になったジョン・スノウとともに、 スターク家の再興はあるのか。

またデナーリスがどのような行動を起こして、 どのような展開になっていくのか。

次が待ち遠しいの一言である。

In this book, Cersei's daughter Myrcella, and Joffrey's sister, is also depicted. Betrothed to the second son of House Martell, she moves to Dorne, where Arianne Martell schemes to make her the queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Arya Stark continues her lonely journey of escape, crossing the sea to Braavos. Similarly, Samwell Tarly heads for the Citadel in Oldtown, arriving in Braavos.

Brienne embarks on a journey to find Sansa Stark, but in the process, she is captured by traitors and taken to someone she thought dead - Catelyn Stark.

The Seven Kingdoms are in a state of great turmoil...

This book is fascinating as ever. Although Daenerys, Tyrion, and Jon Snow do not appear, their stories will unfold in the next book, adding to the anticipation.

Cersei, depicted primarily in this installment, is thoroughly villainous.

She behaves recklessly, alienating even her understanding brother Jaime, and their relationship gradually changes.

Meanwhile, Jaime, initially depicted as utterly villainous, changes his image after being released by Catelyn and returning to King's Landing at great personal cost (losing his sword hand in the process).

His attitudes towards his travel companion Brienne and the captive Edmure Tully reflect this change. Losing his sword hand, he can no longer fight, leading to a gradual shift in his mentality.

As for Cersei, who seems destined for a downfall...

The movements of Tyrion and the fate of the Lannister family are compelling, and I find myself rooting for the scattered Stark family, wondering what the future holds.

With Jon Snow becoming the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, will there be a resurgence for the Starks?

What actions will Daenerys take, and how will her story unfold?

I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.
